The goal in personal training should be to keep clients. Not just keep them training with you but keep them so happy and excited so they tell their friends. If your looking to get new clients, you will drive yourself up a wall(see video)… IF you overlook the 1,10, or 20 client(s) you are currently training. While being recruited to play college football I had my first applicable experience with self promotion and marketing. When going on recruiting visits coaches would immediately do the “LOOK TEST”….How tall are you, did you have a good frame to put on size, did you look athletic, do you look like a college football player, how is your posture and gait. After they sized you on sight with in the first 10 minutes they will be able to give you the “ACT TEST” ….were you humble, insecure,confident but not to arrogant where you were obnoxious, respectful, excited to be there, did they trust you and believe in you that you would perform in their program. Sure your film, stats, grades are important but if you don’t pass the LOOK and ACT TEST that will be the last time you see that campus.
